Hope Center is hosting the fourth annual Butterfly Trail Run/Walk at Stoney Run County Park on Sunday, June 11. “We’re inviting groups, businesses, civic organizations, student groups and families to come and run or walk as teams to support and uplift those battling cancer, cancer survivors and families,” said Hope Center Founder and Survivor, Kerri Midkiff. Stoney Run County Park is located at 142nd Avenue in Hebron, IN.
Event highlights include a kids’ fun run, pre-race stretching, survivor recognition and more.
All funds raised at the Butterfly Trail Run & Walk support Hope Center programs and activities. The non-profit organization is run by volunteers; there is no paid staff. All donations and funds raised are used for Hope Center programs. Cancer survivors and their families never pay for Hope Center programs or activities.
To make the event more cost-friendly for families, registration has been reduced from last year’s $30 price to $20. Event participants have the option to order an event t-shirt for $10 during online registration. The t-shirt deadline is May 26. Register at www.ButterflyTrailRun.com.
“We’re hoping participants will form teams and walk in honor of a survivor, in support of a friend in treatment or in memory of a family member,” said Midkiff.
A half mile Kids Caterpillar Fun Run will be held at the event for children two to ten years of age. Register at www.ButterflyTrailRun.com for $10.
Runners and walkers should indicate that they are survivors when registering to receive a survivor t-shirt. The t-shirt deadline is May 26. Survivors are invited to visit the Survivors’ Tent during the event for a gift.
