Hope Center, a ministry of Lowell Church of Christ, provides a safe place for those who are and have been affected by cancer. With the support of other survivors, people can renew their spirit with hope, refresh their faith in Jesus Christ, and discover resources to navigate through pain, recovery, loss and survival.
S.K.I.P.P.E.R.S. support group meets every other Thursday. Survivors, family members, caregivers and surviving family members meet to offer support, friendship and comfort. Family Fun events are held throughout the year for Hope Center families facing cancer. Families never pay for activities.
When meeting with someone facing cancer, volunteers from Hope Center present a Hope Tote filled with items that will bring comfort. The totes include handmade fleece blankets, a bible, a Hope Center travel cup, a port pillow, lip balm, lotions, handmade cards and more. All items have been hand-selected by those who have experienced cancer treatment. To request a Hope Tote for a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker facing cancer, please call Hope Center at (219) 552-1640.
Hope Center provides educational materials, resource information and a lending library to the community.
Hope Center offers free restorative stretching classes to Hope Center families, supporters and the community. Classes are held every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Lowell Church of Christ. All are welcome.
